Acer’s Chromebook Tab 10 is now available at several retailers

We all knew it was going to happen after the Google Play Store came to Chrome OS: there’s now a Chromebook tablet. Acer released the Chromebook Tab 10 last month; intended for the education market. Many of us thought that’s where the availability would end, but thankfully we were mistaken. As of yesterday, the tablet can be purchased from Jumia, Koga, Connection, and Insight.

The original education retailer, CDW, still has the device for N120,000 After that, the new e-commerce sites are a little all over the place with pricing. Jumia lists the Chromebook Tab 10 at N115,000. Insight has it at N120,000 and Connection at N115,000 Koga wins for those of us who are more frugal, coming in at N114,000 for the Tab 10.

CDW will continue to be the preferred retail store for the Acer Chromebook Tab 10, but it’s nice to see other more consumer-facing markets pick it up as well. Now, you should probably take the design and performance with a grain of salt if you plan to purchase the Tab 10. Coming from the education segment, you’ll find larger bezels, thicker plastics, and lower end specs in order to keep the unit price low. While it won’t make for a horrible experience, it is worth keeping in mind.
